On the occasion of the national holiday – the Constitution Day of the Slovak Republic – on 31 August 2011 in the City Hall in Nitra was traditionally held a benefit concert ´Hoy, my homeland´. The Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič and his wife Silvia Gašparovičová didn´t miss the opportunity to participate in this concert, the proceeds from whom are intended for repair of the Nitra castle.
The festive gala concert was given by leading soloists and members of the Opera of the Slovak National Theatre, who presented works of slovak and world authors – of Eugen Suchoň, Giacomo Puccini, Gejza Dusík and other authors. |
