First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová opened on 20 November 2011 the 21st Christmas Bazaar, which annual organizes the International Women’s Club of Bratislava. Visitors can taste specialties from around the world and experience the unique pre-Christmas atmosphere. "I am glad that for the 5th time I have the honor to open the Christmas Bazaar. As in previous years, also this year there is a great interest for this charity event. People can learn at one point about culture of different countries and their specialties," said the First Lady of Slovakia, who is an honorary member of the International Women’s Club since 2005. Visitors greeted also the Mayor of Bratislava Mr. Milan Ftáčnik and wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Eva Dzurindová.

First Lady opened the 21st annual Christmas Bazaar

At the 21st Christmas Bazaar 38 countries, 6 charities and some friendly clubs were presented. Compared to the last year, new charity tables were added – Vietnam, Cyprus and Kuwait. All funds raised from this charity event divides the charity committee of the International Women’s Club to various children’s homes, social care homes and other non-profit and non-governmental organizations in Slovakia.
