During the three-day official visit of the Czech President and his spouse to Slovakia on 27 - 29 June 2011, First Lady of Slovakia Silvia Gašparovičová and First Lady of the Czech Republic Mrs. Livia Klausová visited on 27 June 2011 a gallery of modern art called Danubiana. This gallery more than ten years offers on the tip of the peninsula in the middle of the Danube both domestic and foreign works of modern artists. First Ladies of Slovakia and the Czech Republic had the opportunity to become acquainted with the works of the Slovak conceptualist Rudolf Sikora and the Serbian artist Milos Sobaïc known for its apocalyptic artefacts. His works of the exhibition "Leap Forward" is notably characterized by its color and highlighting of numerous inconsistencies.

Then the two ladies had the opportunity to become familiar with the statues and sculptures exhibited in the exterior of the museum, about which they were informed by Mr. Peter Polák, author of one of the dominant sculptures called Danube Wings.

In the afternoon both presidential couples will have a joint sightseeing tour by boat on the Danube river from Bratislava to Gabčíkovo. On Tuesday, 28 June 2011 the Czech President and his spouse will visit Banská Bystrica, where they will meet with representatives of the town and by laying a wreath at the Slovak National Uprising Memorial they will honor and commemorate victims of the uprising. On Wednesday morning the Czech guest will fly with the delegation back to their homeland.
