On 25 November 2012 in the Old Market in Bratislava the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová festivly opened the 22nd annual Christmas Bazaar. "I admire the embassies´ effort in presenting their countries in the form of food or products," said the First Lady of Slovakia.
The traditional charity event organized by the International Women’s Club in cooperation with the city of Bratislava and embassies in Slovakia attended this year more than 4-thousand people. Visitors of the bazaar greeted also Mayor of Bratislava Milan Ftáčnik and spouse of the Minister of Foreign Affaires Jarmila Hargašová – Lajčáková.
´Meet the World in One’ is the Bazaar´s traditional motto – at the 22nd annual charity bazaar 41 countries and 5 non-profit organizations presented their traditional products and dishes. Proceeds from this charity activity in the amount of EUR 85.592 will be distributed by the charity committee of the International Women’s Club to various children’s homes, social services homes and other non-profit and non-governmental organizations in Slovakia.
