On September 30, 2007 attended Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová with her husband the evening concert of the slovak grouping Capella Istropolitana that took place in the baroque Basilica of Our Lady´s Ascension in the city Varaždin (Croatia). It was the closing concert of the 27th annual Varaždin Baroque Evenings. For this year the main partner was currently the Slovak Republic. The auspice for this significant cultural event was hold both by the president of Croatia and of the Slovak Republic. The baroque concerts took place also in other european cities inclusive Bratislava.
Beyond the concert the presidential couple had the opportunity to see the historical core of the city that was build in the baroque style. The city Varaždin has friendship relationships with many european cities and also with the slovak city Trnava. Beside the visit of the town hall the presidential couple met also the president of Croatia with his spouse.
