Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová hold for the 3th time the auspice at the International Tennis Tournament of People in Wheelchairs – Slovakia Open. This year it was the 14th Slovakia Open and 75 tennis players from 21 countries of the world came – namely from Japan, Malaysia, Corea, US and others. In the world 90 till 120 similar tournaments are hold each year and the slovak one belongs to the Series II. – it´s one of the biggest.
The First lady appreciated very much in her speech all participants and said: „I cannot defend myself to admire people who can overcome themselves and don´t take care about their handicap, are demanding more of their body, extremely tough and courageous.“ Big recognition she spoke also to the organisators and sponsors because „also this way we visualise our country and manifest our will to help people with physical handicap to live a valuable life together with their possibility to enforce in the top-sport.“
At the festivy results announcement Mrs. Gašparovičová hold over the prizes to winners and congratulated them.
