"Health is the most precious value due to its principal affect on the quality of our lives. That is why I always take patronage in the events intended to reveal new information in health prevention and in diagnostic and treatment methods, and, indeed, this international congress is one of them. Moreover, your field deals with the delivery of a human being and with our women‘s health, which has undoubtedly a direct impact on family lives and our society," said the First Lady at the beginning of her speech before gynaecologists from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovenia. The congress was dedicated to the 95th birthday of the late Professor Ernest Dlhoš, the founder and first chairman of the Slovak Gynaecological and Obstetrical Society.

On the ceremonial evening held in the Slovak National Theatre, Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová and Professor Ján Štencl presented four Slovak gynaecologists with medals. Silvia Gašparovičová expressed her belief that this award would encourage them to make further progress in their professional work. She also congratulated new honorary members of the Society appointed at the congress. “They all being from abroad shows that our gynaecology and obstetrics are exchanging experience with top experts and institutions in other countries, which definitely helps making progress in this branch of medicine,” said Silvia Gašparovičová.
