Celebration of the Red Cross and Red Crescent World Day in Slovakia

On 7 May 2013 First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová attended the festive celebration of the Red Cross and Red Crescent World Day in Slovakia in the Primate's Palace in Bratislava. During the celebration the Slovak Red Cross awarded multiple personalities for their long-term support, development and support of blood donation or volunteer service. This year the Red Cross recalls 150 years of its humanitarian activities – the Red Cross Movement was founded by Henry Dunant in 1863.

Since 2010 is Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová the honorary president of the Slovak Red Cross (SRC). In her speech she commended the work and activities of the SRC: "Thank you on behalf of those whom you have helped. Into the next years of your high human work, I wish you good health, satisfaction in your job and in family life, as well as a lot of strength in meeting the helping objectives of other people," thanked Mrs. Gašparovičová the awarded personalities for their work, which they perform selflessly for the good of our fellow citizens.

Celebration of the Red Cross and Red Crescent World Day in Slovakia

The Silver Henry Dunant´s Medal – the highest honor of the Slovak Red Cross – took from the hands of the Slovak First Lady this year Mrs. Olga Szalmová, Mr. Michal Hudák, Mrs. Eva Siracká and Mr. Anton Srholec.
