The Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody, in cooperation with the Office of Public Health of the Slovak Republic started a project to promote drinking regime at schools. The project was started at the M.C. Sklodowska Elementary School in Bratislava – Petržalka. The management of the school was given almost 700 bottles of table water AQUITAS. In January another 2,600 bottles of the water will be distributed to each of 13 Petržalka elementary schools. The aim of the project is to promote a healthy life style, and educate not only children but also their parents and adult population in general. The Foundation reached an agreement with the water producer to provide for a regular supply of table water to each elementary school in Bratislava in 2006.
At the official start of the project, where the Christmas atmosphere could already be felt, the children were given a popular lecture by experts – doctors on why regular drinking is important and what health problems could be caused by insufficient drinking.
