First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová on 24.11.2006 greeted present at the charity event, that was prepared by the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia at the occasion of the American holiday "Thanksgiving Day". In her speech she stressed that with her participation in this event she wants to promote its main theme – be thankful for what we have and be willing to share it with those who need it, because the foundation she has set up has such a mission.

"Every day I realize that in every society, no matter how advanced, there are people who are vulnerable for various reasons and need assistance. Then comes the charity, which, although it is not an universal salvation, but it can ease suffering, assist at the return of health, or to obtain education by the underprivileged and handicapped," said in her speech Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová. She knows the importance of charity work with which she meets in daily activities of her foundation and she honors all who have open hearts and want to help.
