On Wednesday, 20 December 2023, President Čaputová greeted Slovenian president Nataša Pircová Musarová on her official visit to the Slovak Republic.
According to the president, there are strong and friendly bonds between Slovakia and Slovenia, which have been demonstrated in moments when we were able to help each other selflessly. “Slovenian soldiers are helping to strengthen the security of our country after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and Slovak firefighters helped during the fires and floods that affected Slovenia."
The president emphasized that both of our states have embarked on their journey of nature conservation, green transition, and innovative economy. "We want to make more use of the potential for the cooperation of our experts and companies, mainly in the area of renewable energy sources, circular economy, electromobility, nature preservation and digitalization."
The presidents also discussed the security challenges which both Europe and the world face today. “Next year, Slovenia will be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. Nataša Pircová Musarová considers disinformation to be one of the biggest threats today. Slovenia’s plan to use AI to battle disinformation can be an inspiration for us. I am glad that madam president will also visit the Slovenian contingent in Lešce, which is part of the multinational NATO battle group. I visited them myself a couple of months ago to thank them for their hard work.”
