On Monday 19 September 2022, President Čaputová participated in the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey, London.

According to the president, the way in which the British people honoured the memory of Elizabeth II was extremely powerful and fully reflected the relationship between the citizens of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth countries and their queen. "It was a great honour that on behalf of Slovakia I could pay my last respects to a monarch, whose reign entered forever into the history of the United Kingdom, Europe and the whole world.  Queen Elizabeth II shall remain an inspiration for leaders all over the world. Yesterday I had the opportunity to express my sincere condolences on behalf of the Slovak Republic to the new monarch, Charles III, who commented on his visit to Slovakia as well as that of Queen Elizabeth II. Virtually the entire world met today in London, it met in honour of and respect for the queen. We also bring back the honour and respect, because the world needs it more than ever before.”
