President Čaputová met the participants of the Summer School of Climate Leaders on Friday 26 August 2022 and presented them with certificates of completion. 

The president also thanked them for their participation and primarily for perceiving the urgency of climate change as a challenge. "Numerous professions and specializations exist which are closely connected with climate change – including energy saving, progressive energy and architectural solutions, town planning, intelligent buildings, circular economy and the transition to a carbon-free economy."

In the president’s opinion, all sectors are connected by the responsibility for our fate, for our future and the future of next generations. "I’m pleased that 24 graduates of our summer school have expressed their desire to take an active role in this process."

The summer school of climate leaders is a new project of the President’s Office which aims to support and develop the knowledge and competences of university students with an interest in climate protection and green transition.   
The project was organized by the President’s Office with the support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung representation in the SR and in cooperation with the following organizations and institutions: Friends of Earth CEPA, SIEA, Circular Slovakia, the Environmental Policy Institute, the Slovak Council for Green Buildings, the Slovak Climate Initiative and the Climate Needs You Initiative, the Bratislava Metropolitan Institute, the Goethe Institute, the Slovak Debate Association, the Critical Thinking Academy, Viessmann and HB Reavis, and the embassies of the Federal Republic of Germany and the United Kingdom.
