​President presents first Green Seal in Trenčín

On Thursday, 9 November 2023, President Čaputová presented the first Presidential Green Seal to the Emil Belluš Secondary Industrial School of Trenčín. 

The initiative, based on which public institutions with an innovative approach to building restoration can receive the Presidential Green Seal, was launched by the president's office last year in cooperation with experts in the field of green buildings. The Emil Belluš Secondary Industrial School of Construction in Trenčín has recorded minimal energy consumption after an in-depth renovation and is a model example of an enlightened approach to the renovation of a public building with support from European funds.

"The measures they presented to me prove that an emphasis on sustainability can go hand in hand with significant financial savings; ecological is therefore also economical. At the same time, it brings about an improvement in the comfort of the space in which people spend a significant part of the day and which affects their health and well-being. More efficient buildings with lower energy consumption significantly contribute to solving the climate crisis. Public buildings should set an example in this regard, and I want to encourage them to do so with the Presidential Green Seal."
