On Wednesday 14th June 2006 Silvia Gašparovičová along with the Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Mikloš and Minister of Education László Szigeti opened the Pedagogy Forum 2006. This three-day international event organized by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak republic in cooperation with the Methodological-Pedagogical Centre and was under the auspices of the Minister of Education, the Slovak EU Commissioner and with the support of the Slovak President.
Silvia Gašparovičová first greeted about 350 conference participants and wished them a creative atmosphere, acquiring new knowledge and fruitful exchange of experience. The also mentioned the greeting from the President of the Slovak republic, who due to a foreign trip could not attend this event. In her speech, she commended the work of all teachers and explained her relation to education, which she considers as her heart matter. Evidence of this is the focus and objectives of the foundation she established, and now she can present the first results.
"Education beside health is playing the key role in life in terms of its contribution to society, to be followed by his stance on the moral and material values in work and private environment. Of all the resources necessary for wealth creation is no such versatile than knowledge. New ideas speed all up, reduce the need for raw materials, labor and time. They become the main source of advanced knowledge economy. While land, labor, raw materials and capital can be regarded as limited resources, knowledge is infinite in all directions," said the First Lady.
In the afternoon along with the President of the Pedagogy Forum 2006 Milan Zeman she congratulated the winners of the art competition Rainbow Carousel, held under her auspice. Silvia Gašparovičová looked through the exhibition of the winning pre-school children, who painted this year under the motto "Playground and Games of my Dreams". |
