With joy can be noted that neither in Slovakia we don´t forget successful women – in the historical building of the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava on 25th April 2008 were Women of the Year 2007 recognized. The ceremonial gala evening attended also the slovak First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová who took the patronage over this event. As she said women don´t have it easy. "They have a difficult position. They manage both career and family life. It is therefore good that the society considers them and gave them the prize. Therefore, I refer them to have enough forces in fulfilling work and family responsibilities."
Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová handed over the special award Woman of the 21st Century. This year it won a singer, songwriter and fixed star of the Slovak pop music – Mrs. Marika Gombitová. For the title Woman of the Year 2007 competed ladies who were able to combine their family life with career. Prices were awarded in five categories – in business, media and communication, politics and public administration, arts and science, and research. Ladies shared a wooden statue of women from the artistic woodcarver Vladimír Morávka.
