On 12-13 June 2013 Slovakia was the scene of the 18th Central Europe Summit of Heads of State. The Summit was attended by Presidents of the Republic of Austria, Romania, Montenegro, Estonia, Macedonia, Lithuania, Croatia, Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Hungary, Serbia, Albania, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, but also by the chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga from Kosovo. The first day of the Summit was also attended by the European Council President Herman Van Rompuy.
On Wednesday 12 June 2013 in Bratislava took place a joint program of presidents and their spouses. During the gala evening the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra brought a very beautiful cultural experience.
At the second day of the Summit, the heads of state will discuss many issues at the Bratislava Castle, while their female partners – ten First Ladies including hostess Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová – will attend a separate ladies' program. At the beginning ladies will visit the national monument Red Stone Castle. After a tour through the castle they will move to the nearby wine complex in Modra, where they will have wine tasting and a luncheon. |
