On Wednesday 17 May 2006, Silvia Gašparovičová together with the Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry of the Slovak Republic for Official Development Aid, József Berényi, opened the photo exhibition titled FOTO SLOVAK AID 2006. The purpose of this photo exhibition is to show the wide public results of the official development aid projects of the Slovak Republic, and the hard work of Slovak experts and organizations often working in challenging conditions. The exhibition was organized by the Foreign Ministry of the Slovak Republic in the Aupark shopping centre. This was already the second year of the exhibition held under the auspices of the First Lady.

„I am proud that even though Slovakia itself is still a receiver of aid, it is already able to share what we have with those who still need much more. The pictures displayed in this modern shopping centre will enable us to know life stories of others and better understand real values of life. I believe that also this exhibition will help us be grateful for what we have and enjoy remarkable beauties of common days“, said Silvia Gašparovičová to the guests of the official opening of the exhibition.
