Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová, spouse of the president of the Slovak Republic, hold the auspice over all activities of the Year of Russian Language – also over the final concert „Open Europe“ on 27th November 2007. The laureates´ concert of the international contest of children´s art production showed a nearly professional output of dancers and singers from the Russian Federation and the slovak folk ensemble „Kremienok“. This concert prepared Mr. Igor Čerkasov together with the Russian Embassy in Slovakia. This event was a grave finish of the Year of Russian Language.
Mrs. Gašparovičová appreciated the atmosphere of the concert and accented importance of supporting children´s creativity at schools as well as develop their talent from childhood on. At the occasion of the Year of Russian Language she said it was a very inspiring year that supported the rising interest of youth for study Russian. This fact is very gratifying due to great cooperation opportunities in education, culture and trade.
