First Lady of Slovakia visited on 23rd September 2006 the final tournament of the President Golf Cup 2006 that was held under the auspice of the slovak president Ivan Gašparovič and organized in cooperation with the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody.

Mrs. Gašparovičová rendered prizes to winners of the golf tournament and got a cheque in the amount of 60.000,- SKK for the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody. This financial gift will be used to develop junior golf and building-up of a golf driving range at the Slavic Gymnasium in Bratislava. Talented golf players from this school played also the President Golf Cup 2006. Their big interest and joy were signs of the fact that this generation is interested in playing golf.

„Our foundation decided to support this golf project because we want to change old school courts into areas with sport possibilities without big financial demands. Children can spend their free time with playing golf. In this way golf becomes more affordable for all social groups,“ said Mrs. Gašparovičová.
