70 years from the first teaching – this beautiful and round anniversary celebrated the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. Also the slovak First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová came to congratulate the Faculty on 4 December 2008 and participated at the International Scientific Conference held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Faculty.
„The gate of the school firstly passed 63 students and from year to year their numbers increase. Today, the Faculty boasts a large number of successful graduates. They include builders, statics, surveyors or planners. Their work can be seen around us in the form of interesting, unique and mainly safe buildings. The quality results of this faculty are standing at high professional educators," said Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová who also graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and she recalls her student times till today. As she says, "I have often remembered the difficult but unrepeatable beautiful student years spent at the faculty of building. The knowledge gained here I fully utilized in my work in the projection at the Ministry of Construction and in an construction company. As a result, I gained a lot of experience and an overview of the process of preparation and construction of buildings."
Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering rendered also a commemorative medal to the First Lady at this occasion.
