By a welcoming ceremony in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace on 18 April 2013 began the official visit of the President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves and his wife Evelin to the Slovak Republic.
After signing the guestbook and a tête-à-tête meeting of the presidential couples First Ladies of Slovakia and Estonia in the Golden room of the Presidential Palace discussed in particular their activities and intentions. Mrs. Gašparovičová presented to Mrs. Ilves charitable projects of her foundation Education and Health for Everybody, as well as foundation´s projects focused on healthy eating and sports activities of children and youth in Slovakia.
As a part of the ladies´ program First Ladies visited the Primary school at Malokarpatské námestie in the citypart Bratislava – Lamač. There they got familiar with the functioning of the school and its numerous projects, but also with eating and food served to school students, due to the fact that Mrs. Evelin Ilves was interested in the issue of school meals and eating of the school students. The two First Ladies also tasted the food in the school cantina. In the school year 2010/2011 the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody implemented at this school the project "Go Fit" focused on raising awareness about healthy lifestyle of students, their parents, but also teachers.
