Above 820 exhibitors from 13 countries either this year aren´t missing the construction trade fair Coneco 2009 in Bratislava. The jubilee 30th year of the fair at the same time opened this year´s building season. News in the construction industry viewed on 31st March 2009 also the slovak First Lady Silvia Gašparovičová. In her speech at the ceremonial opening of the trade fair she spoke about a big problem not only in Slovakia – the financial and business depression. „The building industry became one of the most progressive branches of our national economy. Slovakia became an attractive destination not only for doing business but also for living in. Today we see some lowering of construction activities and we know the financial crisis captured also this branch.“ First Lady hopes this phase will end soon and in the near future we will have modern and considerable buildings again.
It´s not the first time the slovak construction industry learns regression. The executive director of the Union for heat cladding of buildings Mr. Anton Novotný remembered the year 1992 when Coneco switched the exhibition frequency form 2 to 1 year. As he said, „we see lowering of construcion activities and even if we will build less shopping and office buildings, there will be the need for social and traffic infrastructure.“
First Lady wished the organisers and exhibitors many luck for the next years. Part of the trade fair Coneco are also the trade fair of effective energy – Racioenergia and the events Climatherm, Conecoinvest and Slovrealinvest. |
