During the three-day official state visit (27.2. – 1.3.2007) in Italy absolved Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová the official program of the presidential couple, but also an interesting ladies program. She could see rare works of art at the headquarters of the italian President in the Quirinale Palace, the Borghese Gallery in Rome and also visit the historic library of the University of Bologna.
Several meetings and discussions, however, the First Lady of Slovakia used to inform each other about the possibilities of direct or indirect cooperation and support, or international expansion of projects, which created and developed in the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová - Education and Health for Everybody. Such a character had the visit of the National Center of the Association Telefono Rosa (Pink Telephone). Association´s President Mrs. Moscatelli has warmly welcomed the proposal for cooperation and recalled the beginnings of their activities 20 years ago, even though in Italy the public denialed that there is violence in families.
Today the association has branches in Rome, Piemont, Lombardy and the Veneto, and each of them deals with physically, economically and mentally abused women. Mrs. Gašparovičová was interested in the fact that the Association obtains money from the state – e.g. from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the regions, or from the city budget, but also it works togehter with embassies, research institutions and research institutes. Our First Lady informed the Chairwoman of the Telefono Rosa about the project and preparing of the opening of the Asylum Centre for Violated Women in Bratislava and promised an early meeting in Slovakia in the upcoming international event.
The promise of a possible cooperation and support for the activities of her foundation has received the First Lady also in informal meetings with representatives of international organizations and companies, and as well as honorary consuls, who represent Slovakia in Italy.
