President Ivan Gašparovič and his spouse Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová visited the Elementary School with Kindergarten Orešie in Pezinok at the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the school. Head of State and his wife welcomed in front of the school in the district Grinava school´s headmaster Ondrej Koreň and Mayor of Pezinok Oliver Solga.
As Ondrej Koreň informed, it´s a family school which has long focused on teaching foreign languages and they have very good results. At the first school stage English language is taught since five years from the first class on. In the seventh class – in classes with extended teaching of foreign languages, pupils learn also German language. The school works also successfully in several projects. In the project "Health Promoting School" they received in 2003 a certificate of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, that this school is included into the National Network of Health Promoting Schools. They are also involved in the project „Digital Štúr and his Descendents in Schools“ and in the development project „Language Labs for Schools“ for which they received from the slovak government several grants. Elementary school has nine classes in the school year 2009/2010 and 172 students attending it.
President of Slovakia, together with Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová then participated in the ceremony dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the school. The President appreciated that to the anniversary celebration former school teachers, parents and students were invited to celebrate together this day. "Do not miss the days you have to learn and acquire new knowledge," he said to school students and continued - "teachers educate not only knowledge, but also love to one’s parents“. According to the president "the school is a future vision, it is a window into a great life. I wish you, dear students, that you might have teachers who will reach you and I wish you, dear teachers, that you might have susceptible and receptive students who will continue in your knowledge." President Ivan Gašparovič thanked also the school management and former employees and wished them good luck for future. |
