Vitamins for children and youth

The slovak First Lady Silvia Gašparovičová gave again apples to children. On 20th May 2009 she visited children in the Primary school with kindergarten in Lamač. „I´m glad to come here. I know that children love sweeties but don´t forget please the fact fruit is much more healthier for them. Dear children, I hope these apples will be really tasty for you.“ Director of the school Mrs. Petráková thanked Mrs. Gašparovičová and the sponsor of the project „Healthy living at schools“ Mr. Mikuláš Vareha. „We arehonoured by this noble visit. We are very thankful the foundation decided for our school. Each year in October we organise the Apple Day. Because of this our children love this fruit,“ said Mrs. Petráková. Interesting is also the fact this school has a certificate of supporting the health.

Today more than 2 tons apples were given into 5 schools in Bratislava. Through the project „Healthy living at schools“ wants the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody to promote healthy eating with the basics of more fruit and vegetables. Foundation gives apples to schools from December 2008. In 2008 were 3975 kilograms apples donored, in 2009 already 6200 kilograms. The apples were given to schools, sport undertakings e.g. European Cup in Alpine Ski Disciplines of Medically Disabled Sportsmen in Jasná.
