First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová visited on 14 June 2013 on the occasion of the World Blood Donors Day the workstation of the National Transfusion Service of the Slovak Republic (NTS SR) in the University Hospital Ružinov in Bratislava to encourage blood donors. First Lady of Slovakia took also this year the patronage over the World Blood Donors Day in the Slovak Republic. After a tour through the premises of the NTS SR and explaining of procedures for the donation of the most precious fluid – blood – Mrs. Gašparovičová met some blood donors. "In the name of all, I thank you very much," thanked the First Lady donors for their willingness to help other people.
Every year Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová supports blood donors in the form of equipment donation or donation of necessary things to improve the care for blood donors. During this year's visit to the Bratislava's hospital, Mrs. Gašparovičová on behalf of the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody donored to the National Transfusion Service of Slovakia a medical device for measuring of the hemoglobin level, which allows qualitative determination of hemoglobin in the donor´s blood and is used at external mobile donation.
