At the occasion of the opening of the international scientific conference ´The Red Cross, Alica Masaryková and Slovakia´ organized by the 40th anniversary of death of the first President of the Czechoslovak Red Cross and the 125th anniversary of establishment of the Red Cross associations in Slovakia, came the conference participants on 22 November 2006 to greet the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová. This major international conference was held on 23 - 24 November 2006 in Martin.
The great pleasure of the meeting with our First Lady expressed the twice president of the British Red Cross and its current Vicepresident Mrs. Lady Sylvia Limerick. With a passion she spoke about the importance of the existence of international organizations and global cooperation of the Red Cross, because the number of disaster, pain and wickedness in the countries and regions is still high. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová, who took patronage of the conference, was interested in the conditions for activities and financing of the Red Cross in Great Britain. At the meeting with the First Lady was present also the UK ambassador in Slovakia Mrs. Judith Anne Macgregor and the President of the SRC Mrs. Helena Kobzová. |
