President of the Slovak Republic Received Prince of Monaco Albert II

President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič received His Serene Highness Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco who came to the Slovak Republic for a working visit.

Their talks were carried in a very friendly atmosphere. The President highlighted environmental initiations of Prince Albert II and the wide social scope of the fields in which the Prince is engaged. “I know that your country is aware of the need to protect the nature. Even though both Slovakia and Monaco are small countries, I believe that together we can do big things to the benefit of the whole Earth,” said President Gašparovič.

During their talks, the President asked about the opinion of the Prince on the development and use of nuclear power as an ecological source. “Nuclear power is a source of clean power provided that it is used rationally. It is one of the possible ways,” remarked Albert II regarding this topic.

The subjects of their talks included also possibilities of extending the bilateral cooperation particularly in the area of tourism.

At the end of their meeting, President Gašparovič invited Albert II to an official visit to the Slovak Republic.
