Exceptionally managed line-up of suburban routes and sensitive integration into broken hilly terrain – also these elements are included in the winning Construction of the Year 2008. The jury awarded the prestigious prize to the motorway – highway D2 Lamačská cesta – Staré Grunty with the Sitina tunnel. Also the spouse of the President of the Slovak Republic Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová participated in the ceremonial awarding which took place in the Historical building of Slovak National Theatre on June 25th 2008.
Mrs. Gašparovičová has reviewed the participating constructions already in the previous vernissage. Also this year the jury’s decision was difficult – to select the best of 27 nominations. According to the First Lady, the nominated Constructions show, that our building industry is not behind and there are still great options of choice. “I am glad to watch the development together with you. I always feel fascinated by the news coming to our construction market. It’s a pleasure to proclaim that our building industry will go far way even thought the high competition.”
Along with the award Construction of the Year also the Prize of the Minister of Housing was presented. This prize was awarded to the Construction work on the roads and concourse in the historical zone of the town Skalica. The Prize of the Mayor of the Capital of Slovak Republic Bratislava was awarded to the motorway – highway D2 Lamačská cesta – Staré Grunty with the Sitina tunnel. The award Construction of the year is regularly part of the annual Day of Building Contractors which 14th anniversary took part under the patronage of the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič. |
