First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová officially opened the 45th International Charity Bazaar at the United Nations in Vienna on November 29th, 2013. In her speech,
she appreciated the charity dimension of the bazaar, which aim was to support projects for children around the world. She also expressed gratitude to all who contributed by the successful preparation and organization of the bazaar, particularly the Association of Women in Vienna, volunteers and all countries which have participated in the bazaar.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps as well as the staff of international organizations based in Vienna took part at the opening ceremony of the Charity Bazaar. Slovakia, together with other EU member countries, presented its traditional products in the bazaar. Traditional Slovak Christmas gingerbread made by students from the Secondary school in Stará Ľubovňa and ceramics products from Modra city had great success. Very successful was also the Slovak folklore performed by children's folklore ensemble Rozmarín from Vienna. They showed their dancing arts in the beginning of the opening ceremony. The bazaar joined over 70 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, South and North America, as well as from Australia.

The Association of Women in Vienna organizes the International Charity Bazaar in order to raise funds to support children's charities around the world every year. 24 projects for children around the world were supported by the funds gathered during last year of UN WG bazaar
in 2013.
