On 5th May 2011 in the afternoon the Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič and his wife Silvia Gašparovičová traditionally welcomed awarded personalities of the Slovak Red Cross for the year 2010 at the Presidential Palace. More than thirty of these personalities came to the palace, led by the SRC President Helena Kobzová. She noted that she came with people, "who passed the ideas of Henry Dunant to this day, through which for 150 years the light shines which he fired up. We are extremely honored that as every year, on the occasion of the valuation of our deserving volunteers you have welcomed our delegation. These people deserve it. From the head of state we consider it not as a certainty, but as an honor," said SRC President Helena Kobzová.
Ivan Gašparovič thanked for that he can be among the first well-wishers of the granted personalities of the SRC. "Your work is not an obviosity. Your work is a piece of a man who is in all of us, but you translate it into helping other people," he said. A lot of strength, health and wellbeing wished them also the First Lady of Slovakia, who is at the same time the SRC Honorary President and got this year the highest honor awarded by the Slovak Red Cross since its inception in 1993 – the honorable Henry Dunant Silver Medal. |
