The Presidential Palace was on 9th December 2010 filled with folk costumes. The children from the group of New Matičiarik Zámky, as well as folklorists from the group of Moravian Kasanka Lieskové came to greet the President Ivan Gašparovič and his wife Silvia Gašparovičová.

Head of the folk ensemble Matičiarik Jana Garajová presented achievements of the folk group, which showed to the presidential couple Christmas songs, rhymes and carols. President Ivan Gašparovič in his speech thanked the folklorists that he could recall his childhood days when he went with carols and thanked also to their parents and teachers for so nice keeping of beautiful Slovak traditions.

Representative of the folk ensemble Kasanka and mayor of the city Moravské Lieskové Ľubomír Miklánek in his speech stressed the magic of the holiday time, "when people are closer to each other" and children by singing and rhymes wished the presidential couple "happy and God blessed Christmas."

President Ivan Gašparovič sincerely thanked the dear guests and wished them "to find love and understanding, shall the new year become for you a really successful one."
