This year’s 19th Christmas Bazaar opened the slovak First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová. This charity event took place on 22nd November 2009 at the premises of the Park of Culture and Leisure in Bratislava.
"The Christmas Bazaar in Slovakia has a long tradition. I believe that thanks to today’s charity event the women’s club receives enough funds to help those who need it most. Also thanks to you the quality of life of children – sick or mentally handicapped – throughout Slovakia will improve. And finally also those who are not of their own fault in a difficult life situation," said the spouse of the President Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová. Visitors could not only recognize but also taste traditional food, cakes and products from 39 countries. Representation here had also 10 non-profit organizations. Visitors of the Christmas Bazaar helped to fulfill the motto of this year’s bazaar: ´Help us to help others´.
