For an official visit came on Thursday, 10 January 2008, president of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus together with his spouse Livia. After an official welcoming with the slovak president and his spouse Silvia at the courtyard of the President´s palace followed tête-à-tête discussions in the Admission lounge of the palace. After closing the meeting followed a common press conference. Next point of the progamme of the czech presidential couple was an official meeting with the prime-minister Robert Fico.
In the afternoon met the slovak and czech presidential couples students of graduation year classes from 5 high schools in Bratislava at Gymnasium of Laco Novomeský. Besides the curious questions for the presidents asked students the First Ladies about their position as the spouse of a president as well as about projects of their foundations.
In the evening took place in the President´s palace a ceremonial dinner. Afterwards the presidential couples visited the dramatic performance „Tančiareň“ (Dance Hall) in the Slovak National Theatre.
On Friday, 11 January 2008, presidents together with their spouses visited the castle Topoľčianky, which was a summer residence of the presidents of Czechoslovakia. After sight-seeing both couples at a carriage visited the National Stud Farm in Topoľčianky. After seeing the show of the Lippizaner and visit of the museum followed a visit of a bison stud. The last point of the programme was a visit in Winehouse Topoľčianky connected with winetasting.
