On 4 July 2012 the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová met with Mr. Marco Sietas, the Sports Director of the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF). They discussed in particular the work with disabled dancers in wheelchairs. Slovakia is a worldwide leader in this area and Slovak disabled dancers are very successful in European and world competitions.
Since 2005, Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová takes patronage over various international competitions of wheelchair dancers in Slovakia. Also through the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody she gives financial and material support to wheelchair dancers. In the past the foundation helped to purchase a special dance wheelchair for a disabled dancer. |
