The beauty of gold coins and other treasures made of the yellow metal, which come from 81 different mints in Europe, for a few months came to Bratislava. The Historical Museum in cooperation with the East Slovak Museum in Košice for the first time present a unique treasure to the public in a complete composition. This precious collection viewed on 19th March 2009 the slovak President Ivan Gašparovič with his wife Silvia Gašparovičová in the area of the Luginsland Bastion in the Severen walls of the Bratislava Castle. The presidential couple first familiarized with the treasure by a film by Pavol Dvořák.
Interestingly, the treasure from the 17th century consists of 2920 gold coins, three medals, renaissance chain and copper box. The treasure of Košice was found in the metropolis of Eastern Slovakia and is one of the largest multiple founds in the world. In 1935 he was found by workers under the cellar floor.
