On 21 November 2011 First Lady of the Slovak Republic Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová visited the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava. The aim of the visit was to render a financial donation from the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody to the Department of Orthodontics of the Faculty of Medicine of the Slovak Medical University.
During informal discussions Rector of the University Mrs. Dana Farkašová informed the First Lady about activities of the Slovak Medical University. Head of Department of Orthodontics informed Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová about specialized study, the only one in Slovakia, which is currently carried out in this department. "We currently have 35 students who, in addition to the theoretical part, have also a practical training," said Simona Dianišková.
The festive rendering of the check worth € 3,650 was made directly at the Department of Orthodontics of the Faculty of Medicine of the Slovak Medical University, in the facilities where students receive practical instruction. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová gave this financial donation into the hands of the Head of Department Mrs. Simona Dianišková in the presence of the Rector Dana Farkašová.
Financial gift from the Foundation of the Slovak First Lady is intended to improving of education of students in the postgraduate department. As First Lady said, "it is always precious to donor something. I am glad that it is still possible to find people, fans, who make it possible." Rector of the University thanked the First Lady for the financial gift, that "comes at a time when any financial resources are extremely necessary" and added, that thanks to this gift the university will be able to continue to modernize its educational facilities. Head of the Department of Orthodontics Mrs. Simona Dianišková stated that the funds will be provided for the purchase of specialized device, as well as foreign and domestic specialized literature. |
