Spouse of the Slovak President Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová today symbolically launched into life the DVD titled ´Rehabilitating with HER Club´, which is devoted to women after breast cancer surgery. Civic association HER Club together with the Physiatric-Rehabilitation Department of the National Cancer Institute in Bratislava and Mrs. Zora Czoborová created a comprehensive exercise program for patients with this diagnosis.
First Lady of Slovakia welcomed this activity and added that it is of great benefit to patients. "Presentation and processing of the DVD, which includes exercises following breast cancer surgery is of great importance because it makes patients´ cure faster, easier to overcome postoperative status and sooner they are able to reintegrate into normal life," said Silvia Gašparovičová.
HER Club member Mrs. Edita Slabejová after breast cancer operation actively seeked for help with rehabilitation. She, therefore, asked also Mrs. Zora Czoborová and under her direction she gradually overcomed her problem. "The exercise helped me a lot. And not only that now I feel better and swellings subsided, but also I met other women who were healthy and I have tried to tackle them," said Edita Slabejová.
Project ´Rehabilitation with HER Club´ was established also thanks to the support and under the professional guarantee of Mrs. Eva Husarovičová and Mrs. Marta Poláková from the Physiatric-Rehabilitation Department of the National Cancer Institute in Bratislava, who are professionally engaged is the issue of post-operative rehabilitation. The DVD will be given to patients immediately after surgery in surgical and gynecological departments. |
