Presidential Palace on Friday 15th June 2007 opened the doors wide for all interested in office of the head of state. On the occasion of 3rd anniversary of the inauguration of President Ivan Gašparovič the Day of Open Doors was organized.

Visitors were welcomed at the Presidential Palace Courtyard by a concert of Military Music of the President of the Slovak Republic together with the Honor Guard and majorettes. The first guests – a great crowd of children – were personally welcomed by the presidential couple. In addition to songs and small bouquets that visitors brought to the palace, they brought also joy and many smiles.

President of the SR, as well as the First Lady spent much time by tireless personal accompanying of visitors through the premises of the palace and personal interviews. The greatest interest from visitors was, of course, the presidential couple’s autograph. President Ivan Gašparovič with his spouse Silvia distributed several thousand signatures and met numerous candidates for joint photograph with the presidential couple.

They very spontaneously communicated with the president and his wife, especially large crowds of children. School classes from all over Slovakia have made school trips. Elderly visitors highly appreciated the information panels with many photos from domestic and foreign head of state activities, as well as that ones of Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová.

In the accompanying events in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace, a set of majorettes showed their mastery, visitors could see examples of police cars and limousines. In the afternoon guests were keen on autograph of very known sportlers – hockey, football, etc.. In the garden of the Presidential Palace all afternoon long performed folk dance ensembles. Numerous competitions for children and the presentation of the activities of the Slovak Red Cross, as well as draft beer and kofola complement the pleasant atmosphere.
