On 11 March 2013 in Bratislava already started the 5th Slovak nation-wide inquiry Slovak Woman of the Year 2013. The philosophy of this survey is to present Slovak ladies who are exceptional and successful in their profession; in addition they are able to combine it with family responsibilities. 26 nominees will compete in eight categories: arts and culture, science and research, education and support of young talents, media and communications, healthcare, business and management, sports, charity. The winner of each category is decided by readers of the magazine Slovenka and viewers of the RTVS, who are sending their votes.
Patronage over this inquiry overtook also this year the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová who stood also at the re-birth of the survey five years ago. "I am glad that Slovakia once again recognizes important women who have achieved significant accomplishments," said the First Lady of Slovakia. Their life stories can so become a motivation and inspiration for other Slovak women.
The festive ceremony of the inquiry Slovak Woman of the Year 2013 will be held in the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava on 20 May 2013. |
