Celebration of the Day of Establishing of the Slovak Republic

Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová together with her husband took on 1 January 2008 part at the festivy holy mass by the occasion of the Mother of God celebration, as well as of the 15th anniversary of establishing of the Slovak Republic. The mass was celebrated by His Eminence cardinal Jozef Tomko in the Con-cathedral of St. Martin in Bratislava.

After the holy mass Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová attended also the ceremonial act of granting highest state honours to 22 notabilities of the cultural, scientific, social and economic life by the slovak president Ivan Gašparovič. These state honours are granted by the occasion of the state feast – Day of Establishing of the Slovak Republic. The act in the historical building of NR SR attended also the chairman of NR SR Pavol Paška with his spouse, the slovak prime minister Robert Fico with his spouse, chairman of the Constitution Court Ivetta Macejková, representatives of the parliament, ministers, diplomatic corps, church representatives and other guests.

In the evening visited Mrs. Gašparovičová together with her husband the New Year´s concert in the Concert Hall of the Slovak Philharmony.
