On 17 January 2012 the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová welcomed spouse of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Slovakia, as well as spouse of the Ambassador of the People´s Democratic Republic of Korea in the Slovak Republic. It happened at the occasion of rendering the credentials of the Macedonian Ambassador H. E. Gjorgji Filipov and the Korean Ambassador H. E. Ri Kwang Il into the hands of the President of the Slovak Republic.
Wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Slovakia Mrs. Liljana Filipova during discussions with the First Lady of Slovakia was interested in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Slovakia. Due to the fact that Mrs. Filipova is an expert in the field of intellectual property, patents and trademarks, with the First Lady they spoke about Slovak products that the European Commission entered into the register of protected geographical indications. This applies e. g. for the traditional slovak sheep cheese ´bryndza´ or Skalický trdelník (typical Slovak cake in the region of Skalica).
