Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová and her husband welcomed on 5 December 2008 in the Presidential Palace three dozen children from children’s folklore ensemble Ragačinka from Hrušov in the district Veľký Krtíš. Children demonstrated to the presidential couple their Christmas program, which they always rehearse in another form and which is already 13 years visiting orphanages and retirement homes in Slovakia.
In addition to songs, carols and congratulation children brought to the presidential pair small gifts in the form of cornets, honey and cakes of the Hont region. On the occasion of the 145th anniversary of establishing of the Slovak Matica they donated to them the Golden Book of Slovak Matica. Project coordinator Ján Brloš also thanked the Head of State for his noble support of their project.
Children from Hrušov will also this year visit retirement homes and orphanages to bring attention and greetings also to those who have nobody to intercede or visit them. From Bratislava the Bus of Goodwill will continue for this year’s pilgrimage to the children’s home in Trenčín, children will operate at the square in Ilava, and will bring joy and gifts upon the children in orphanages in Kráľova Lehota, in the children´ sanatorium in Dolný Smokovec, and children’s home in Mlynky.
President Ivan Gašparovič had joy in meeting with children from Hrušov. He thanked them especially for the beauty of the message spread under the lonely people in Slovakia. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová gave to children from Ragačinky Santa Claus packages. |
