Also nurses have their celebration – on 12 May when we commemorate the International Day of Nurses. On this occasion, the Slovak Chamber of Nurses and Midwives has commended for the tenth time nurses and midwives. On 22 May 2009 received 31 nurses and midwives the White Heart Award. However, it obtained it not only nurses, but also a man. Special award from the hands of the First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová got Mrs. Oľga Hanselová from Bratislava. According to the Chamber is her personal commitment and professional engagement an example for all nurses.
Their work highlighted also the First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová. "I know that you give your responsible and dedicated work not always in the best conditions. Therefore you give our society and patients a great value for what we are very thankful. In your working life you are struggling with various human destinies and stories. Together with them, unfortunately, you live their pain, but also joyful moments in their lives. With your experience and high moral standing you have contributed significantly to the positive shift of nursing care in Slovakia."
The White Heart was officially selected as a worldwide symbol of nursing in 1999 at the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the International Council of Nurses. |
