Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová met on 17th August 2010 the spouses of new ambassadors of Iraq, the U.S., Israel and the People’s Republic of China to the Slovak Republic.
Spouse of the ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, Mrs. Zuhal Abdulwahab Hamed Al-Zahroon at the meeting with Mrs. Gašparovičová highlighted in particular the beauties of Slovakia and Bratislava, which she already managed to see. She´s pleased that she will have the opportunity to discover Slovakia and learn about the culture and mentality of our people.
Assist in health care, education of long-term unemployed and socially disadvantaged people, as well as abused women and children with disabilities – these issues dominated the discussions of the First Lady and the spouse of the new U.S. ambassador to the Slovak Republic Mrs. Theodore Sedgwick. Mrs. Sedgwick arrived in Slovakia together with her daughter Kate. Ambassador’s wife stated that she gladly passes the streets of Bratislava’s Old Town, which recalls the atmosphere of the U.S. capital city Washington, DC. Mrs. Gašparovičová mentioned at this occasion her visit to Washington, DC together with her husband in October 2008.
Building of good relations between Slovakia and China during the function period of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China will also strive the Ambassador’s spouse Mrs. Li Qian. She added that the Slovak Republic is a very good friend of China.
The spouse of the Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Slovak Republic Mrs. Edna Ben – Zvi was interested in the International Women’s Club of Bratislava. Honorary member of the club is also Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová. She informed the spouse of the ambassador about club´s activities and also about the traditional Christmas bazaar. |
