The President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič and Michael John Wyn Roberts, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Slovak Republic, have announced news that is not heard everyday.
In autumn this year, the United Kingdom’s governing monarch Queen Elizabeth II and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh will pay an official visit to the Slovak Republic at the invitation of President Ivan Gašparovič.
“This is a very important event for Slovakia. For the first time ever, the British Royal Family will arrive in Slovakia. I am convinced that we will show the Royal couple a thriving Slovakia, in both economic and social terms. I believe the visit will represent a new impetus for even better cooperation between both countries,“ Ivan Gašparovič said.
He also noted that the Royal couple would not only focus on Bratislava but will also see other regions of Slovakia.
