Spouse of the President of the Slovak Republic Mrs. Gašparovičová met on 24 April 2014 at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava students and their teachers from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The meeting was held on the occasion of the 16th Nationwide Knowledge Competition of Hearing Impaired Students with International Participation, over which Mrs. Gašparovičová took the auspices. The Slovak First Lady was very pleased that the contest is held also this year and wished every success to students not only in their studies but also in personal life. Director of the Boarding School Hrdličkova in Bratislava Mrs. Mária Benová expressed her sincere thanks to Mrs. Gašparovičová for her long-term assistance and support to students not only from the position of the First Lady of Slovakia, but also for her assistance through her foundation.
Aim of the competition is to search pupils and students with linguistic and mathematical talent, and encourage their interest in self-education. Part of the competition is also the education of teachers – a professional seminar, which contributes to the further development and sharing of experience in the field of pedagogical competencies of teachers of deaf students. |
