On 3 May 2013 attended the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová the 20th annual charity concert "Hearing by Heart" in the premises of the Arena Theatre in Bratislava. Also this year, this special concert was held under the auspices of the First Lady of Slovakia. "Every year I´m very glad that I can come to this concert," said Mrs. Gašparovičová and highly appreciated the selfless work of teachers dedicated to hearing-impaired children, as well as the concert´ organizer – mime Vlado Kulíšek. First Lady also rendered the winning cup in the category youngest pupils to the talented hearing-impaired children from Lučenec.
However, an award from the organizers – the Vlado Kulíšek Foundation Hearing by Heart and the Primary Boarding School with a Kindergarten for Children and Students with Hearing Impairments – received also the First Lady of Slovakia for her longstanding patronage and support.
Even though the fact that these children lost their ability to hear, they are able to thrive in a world where sound is one of the fundamental ways of perception. Therefore, among the performers at the benefit concert were not only children from special schools, but also artists e. g. the acrobatic dance group Vertigo or singer Lukáš Adamec whose songs were transferred into the sign language. |
