Special primary school at Beethovenova-street in Trnava experienced on November 7, 2007 a considerable visitor – Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová together with chief of Regional School Office in Trnava ceremonially opened with unfixing a ribbon the new builded facilities – the extension of this special school that will serve heavily handicapped children with multiple handicaps. Also premises dedicated for several interest groups can be find here. Also Mr. Štefan Bošnák, major of the city Trnava, and deputies of the Ministry for Education of the Slovak Republic took part at the celebration.
Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová also rendered this school by her foundation Education and Health for Everybody a financial donation of 59 000,- SKK for buying special water-massage bath that will help mainly physically handicapped children from this school at rehabilitation. This bath can be also find in the new school facilities.
In the school mentally and multiple handicapped children in the age of 6 till 16 years are educated. The school mission is to provide them basic general education aimed at pre-professional preparation, adequate training, knowledge and work skills that are needed for social integration. Beside the school a special-pedagogic advisory service (ŠPP) and a civil association „Iskierka“ (Twinkle), that unites parents and friends of children with combined handicap, is working.
